A massive congratulations to #parentiniequipped Mads Würtz Schmidt. Yesterday in Richmond, Virgina, he was crowned U23 World Time Trial Champion. Riding for Team Danmark (who have a long relationship with Parentini), the 21 year old had a long wait to see if he would don the rainbow stripes. Setting off in one of the early waves, he had an agonising 3 hours sat in the hot seat, waiting until the pre-race favourites finished n the last wave. Not one of them bettered his 37m 10secs for the undulating 30km.
This title is now added to his already impressive palmares, which includes the Junior TT World Champion title in 2011, the junior Paris-Roubaix in 2012 and recently a stage at the Tour de l’Avenir and the TT stage of the Post Rund Danmark.
The World Championships continue until the 27th September, where it culminates with the Men’s Elite road race.
As well as Team Danmark, there are other #parentiniequipped riders racing in Richmond, including RusVelo riders representing Russia, and Ireland’s promising junior, Jake Gray.
